At this point, I gave up trying to shoot the film in sequence, and began filming what I could at the time. At this point, the main character just heard the band play for the first time, and he fainted from shock in the process, he had never heard music before. The first shot is a slow camera drift that slows fall onto his body, a common film technique that is used when someone is about to regain consciousness. It is used in 'Bill and Ted's Bogus Journey'
After the main character discovers the drum kit, there is a short montage of shots containing close-ups of different parts of the drum set up, it is edited in time with the beat of a drum solo by Mark Mothersbaugh found on the 'Rushmore' soundtrack.
