This popular cult show from the 1990's is one of David Lynch's many crowning achievements. Combining mystery, surrealism and the supernatural, it explores the darker side to small-town America.

The Intro reflects the eeriness of the show, with a haunting musical theme by Angelo Badalamenti, and slow fades of both the town's industrial machines and the beauty of the surrounding nature and wildlife.

Drear and Fesire - Inland Empire

David Lynch's 2006 film, 'Inland Empire', has been a huge influence on the Surreal work I have been recently studying. I particularly like the poster created for the film, which draws heavily on a monochrome pallet, with blurred imagery and a 3D lettering effect. I then tried to create my own version for the Surreal film I have been working on, titled, 'Drear and Fesire', in which I replicated the design, especially concentrating on the 3D lettered effect.
